Conwy and Deganwy Quays Marinas are already located in one of the most picturesque sites in the UK, just next to the Snowdonia National Park. Conwy’s Town Centre is furthermore a World Heritage Site. Time does not stand still there however: Conwy Marina boasts 5 Gold Anchors and has just won a local business award; the team will also be exhibiting in a couple of days at the Northern Boat Show and hosting the All Wales Boat Show in Conwy next year.

Jon Roberts, manager for both Conwy and Deganwy, noticed that boat owners were arriving in the marina on Thursday evening and spending Friday working on board, in order to be ready to go out sailing earlier. “Years ago we offered wifi but it seems that people barely used it – we certainly have no complaints. It became increasingly clear to us however, that decent internet access has become priority and so for people to be able to work effectively on board, consequently spending more time in the marina, we would have to install a more professional service.” described Jon. Research led the team to AirAngel who had worked with The Ritz and Mercedes-Benz. The superfast network is now proving to be a complete success, earning Conwy Quays Marina a business award.
Their strategic location connects North Wales with northern England and Scotland, the Isle of Man and Ireland. Conwy Quays Marina will be exhibiting in the Northern Boat Show taking place in Liverpool this coming weekend, “Regional shows are great for catching up with clients,” said Jon. “Many customers of our berth-holders are based in Liverpool and so it makes sense for us to be there.” The show is being organised as part of the International Mersey River Festival, promising an abundance of cultural activity along the waterfront.
Conwy Quays Marina will also be hosting the the fourth All Wales Boat Show, due to take place in a year’s time, from the 9th-11th June. “This will be the third time we hold this show in Conwy” explained Jon. “The event brings about 7000 people to the marina where there are new and used boat sales and many more attractions. We have a year to prepare for it and are looking forward to an excellent event.”
