TransEurope Marinas: a community of boating destinations
With a trajectory of over 35 years, our network of selected marinas throughout Europe is a melting pot where member managers share experience, enthusiasm and innovative ideas. Our main objective at TransEurope Marinas is to enable berth holders to spend more time at sea, encouraged by the reassurance of a warm welcome in international marinas and the advantage of discounted berthing. All this with a single motto: “Let’s keep it simple!”
TransEurope Marinas comprises the most extensive marina group in Europe, spanning no less than eleven countries and close to 45,000 berths. Originally created to help bolster smaller, independent, and often family-run marinas both sides of the Channel/La Manche, what was “Transmanche Marinas” evolved to incorporate members across the Iberian Peninsula, Ireland and the Netherlands, before extending further south to countries such as Greece, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia.
The essence of the group is based on a convivial, low-cost membership system, whereby marina members offer reciprocal discounts to their berth-holders, permitting them to enjoy a 50% berthing discount in each of the over 75 associated European marinas for up to five days per year in each facility. As far as possible, marinas are spaced at a minimum distance of 30nm or a day’s sail away, providing nocturnal refuge. Members are encouraged to meet service and safety standards corresponding to the equivalent of four or five Gold Anchors (The Yacht Harbour Association), assuring berth-holders of a similar level of service as a visitor in affiliated marinas.
Four meetings per year allow member marina managers to network and share ideas. The lack of local competition keeps politics at bay, allowing genuine friendships to develop over the years.
