Now in its fifth year, The Barclays Jersey Boat Show, Jersey’s Largest Maritime Event is firmly established as a major event on the British boating calendar, attracting thousands of visitors.

The three-day show, which offers free entry, takes place in the maritime heart of St. Helier Marina and features power and sail, side by side. It also showcases the best of Jersey to both residents

and visitors alike – history, food, drink and entertainment. One of the indisputable stars of the show and open to visitors during the three-day event is 79-metre HMS Mersey, a working navy warship and now employed as a Patrol vessel offeringfisheries protection and maritime security.

Barclays Jersey Boat Show has confirmed an eclectic and exciting programme of entertainment, which is sure to please the crowds during the May Day Bank Holiday weekend event. Last year’s show saw an estimated 30,000 visitors, confirming it as a vital showcase for the local maritime industry, an integral part of Jersey’s tourism offering and an opportunity for broadening overseas marine connections.

For TransEurope Marina berth-holders wishing to travel to Jersey for the show, member Paul le Neveu confirmed that it would be business as usual; “The marina staff continues to welcome visiting yachts as we don’t close the harbour to visitors during the weekend of the show”. He went on to explain that “this year there will be 105 land based stalls/exhibitors including the Outdoor activities arena, and 55 vessels afloat in the marina.”
