Francisca Lima from the marina explained their philosophy:
“Besides the quality of the infrastructure and support services, our main focus is always our clients, to make them feel unique, even if only for a few hour, some days or long stays.
Our policy is to be always attentive to small details and our team seeks to create the conditions of comfort and support that will make our clients feel at home.
The bread rolls that we leave each morning in our client’s boat, the monitoring by a member of our team with a rib from the entrance of the river until the berth, the tourist information and concierge service for those who arrive at the marina are all examples of how we try to improve our visitor experience.
Catamaran Pontoon
The special pontoon for the catamarans was also based on a problem issue that we identified among older marinas and where we saw that we could make a difference. We understood that it’s not easy to arrive in a marina with a big multihull as most of the time you have to struggle for a place and also the prices are often very high compared to a monohull. Consequently Douro Marina opted to build a pontoon reserved for catamarans and apply the same prices as a monohull meaning that rates are calculated by the length and not by the beam.
Douro Marina also took advantage of this great location to create good conditions for winter storage. Being very well sheltered and with local prices for technical services and winter storage very competitive, Douro Marina is the place to visit for sailors on the trade wind route.”
