Environaut course - TransEurope Marinas

The EnviroNaut Environmental Officer Course, aimed at improving environmental competency in the nautical tourism sector, was launched by European Boating Industry at this year’s boot Düsseldorf, during the popular series of presentations and discussions at the Blue Innovation Dock.

Initiated in February 2022 as an Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union and in collaboration with six project partners, the EnviroNaut project is a free modular online course that looks to bridging the gaps in environmental awareness, legislative compliance, and sustainability practices.

The Environaut project addresses crucial environmental challenges within the industry, including the need to increase control over environmental impacts and improve knowledge regarding legislation, pollution control, and waste management.

The course comprises five online modules, including an introductory module on Ocean Literacy and four specialised modules tailored for workers in Marinas, Sea Schools and Watersport Clubs, Skippers, and Maintenance Companies. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate for the position as Environmental Officers. It will also be a sign of environmental action for companies training their employees, which will be welcomed by customers, the local community and policy-makers.

TransEurope Marinas members look forward to benefitting from this course as an important sustainable training resource.

The EnviroNaut course will be accessible to everyone at environaut.eu free of charge.
