Introducing Savvy Navvy – our new digital partner!
We are delighted to have partnered with Savvy Navvy, the “Google Maps for Boaters”. With our network of over 80 marina members, there is plenty of choice for new destinations, but getting there can be another matter!
Savvy Navvy’s digital-first perspective recognises that boaters, particularly those new to the pastime, often benefit from helpful routing advice to offer an optimally comfortable passage to their destination. Automatically calculating weather conditions, tides and boat characteristics for speed and ease of travel – even establishing the best time to leave – can make a valuable difference to the crew’s experience on board.
TransEurope has just launched a new website where each TransEurope marina member profile features a 5mn-radius Savvy Navvy chartlet covering the area around the marina entry, offering useful orientation such as depths, navigational aids, seabed types and nearby anchorages.
An additional benefit comes in the form of routing suggestions, facilitating a trip to a new destination, complete with distances, approximate timings for different boat speeds, images and route descriptions. The cluster of marinas around the Solent area is the first group to enjoy this advantage, and the idea is to expand this around the network.
Were that not all, Savvy Navvy also offer a discount to TransEurope boaters to download the app and use the service.
