Jachthaven Waterland is the largest full service marina on the inland IJsselmeer/Markermeer. This former tidal estuary, closed off by dams since decades is the most popular cruising area in The Netherlands. We are located in Monnickendam, a historical town, just 10km north of Amsterdam. Needless to say that accessibility is excellent, by car, public transport and even Schiphol Airport is only 35km away. Did you know that our marina is the ideal location to combine your cruising trip with a city trip to Amsterdam?

Waterland is currently spread over two locations, connected by a floating pier. We have berths in all sizes, from 5-15m, and some alongside that are even exceeding 20m. In the coming years the adjacent area will be redeveloped, with old commercial businesses being replaced by modern real estate, a mix of living, small businesses, a hotel and restaurants. This imposes quite a challenge upon the marina, as we have to integrate both locations and move to a new. The marina will form an integral part of the development plans, but remain a privately owned family business, as it is now.

Our over 700 berth holders will face an exciting future as the classic fixed wooden piers are set to be replaced by spacious floating concrete pontoons, and all onshore facilities will be completely new or renovated. But most activities are planned outside the yachting season, with minimum disturbances to berth holders, ensuring comfortable holidays.

Our team of 17 welcomes guests who come with their own yacht, but also clients chartering one of our modern Dehler and X-yachts (we have a range, from 25- 38ft) and two J80 for sailors who like active sailing but prefer the comfort of sleeping onshore. We have four short-stay accommodation options as well as camper places for those on the move. And should you come across any technical issue whilst on holiday, be assured that our service team will get you en route quickly.
