TransEurope Marinas joins an ICOMIA Marinas Group visit to Venice
Organising committee members for the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference, Venice 2025
Italian TransEurope member Venezia Certosa Marina is busy preparing to host the 2025 ICOMIA World Marinas Conference in Venice (IWMC). Early October saw international members of the ICOMIA Marinas Group convene on the island to preview the site and discuss speaker contents and an exciting itinerary for the traditional marina tour.
Marina manager and company owner Alberto Sonnino joined fellow Venetian member and Assomarinas President Roberto Perocchio in welcoming the group, who were met in style and shown some of the iconic sights of Venice.
The IMG group met the following day to share insights on the state of the industry, comment on the progress of policy papers, and elect a new Chair for the group. This role was conferred in part upon popular figure Jon White, General Manager of The Yacht Harbour Association. He will share the role with other global experts and is expected to take over shortly from Martinho Fortunato after a successful term which saw Martinho run IMG very effectively whilst also delivering an excellent IWMC in Vilamoura in 2023.
