TransEurope Marinas is pleased to announce that Katie Steiness has today joined the team as Communications Manager.

Katie SteinessSteiness, previously PR Manager for round the world yachtswoman, Dame Ellen MacArthur, brings a wealth of experience in public relations and marketing to TransEurope Marinas as it continues its successful transformation into one of the largest marina groups in Europe.

Steiness reports to TransEurope Marinas Chair, Monica de Vast, and takes up her post with immediate effect. She has responsibility for TransEurope Marinas’s external and internal communications across all platforms, including social media.

She has over 20 years’ experience in PR, marketing & event management, primarily for offshore sailing events, but also for marinas, Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight (United Kingdom) and more recently Calero Marinas in the Canary Islands (Spain).

Monica de Vast, Chair of TransEurope Marinas, said: “We are delighted to confirm Katie as Communications Manager for TransEurope Marinas. This is a first for TransEurope Marinas and a huge step for us on the road to taking our organisation to the next level as we welcome even more members in 2015. Katie was an obvious choice for us as she has the right mix of communications and linguistic skills – she speaks no less than six European languages – to really help us continue to drive forward our ambitious plans to enrich the network for sailors and marinas.”

Steiness commented: “I am delighted to be joining TransEurope Marinas at such an exciting time, as it continues its rapid transformation into one of the most important networks of marinas in Europe. The organisation has grown phenomenally since its inception in 1984 and that expansion shows no sign of stopping.

The TransEurope Marinas brand is already well recognised and respected. I am really looking forward to working with the team in this truly pan-European organisation to widen the reach of TransEurope Marinas and further drive member participation and engagement.”
